It is commonly believed, that PayPal is the best payment method in settlements between freelancers and agencies. In some way, it is a convenient method but mostly for agencies. This allows agencies to carry out so call batch payments and save their money and time. However, this payments method is not as convenient to individuals and freelancer for some reasons. As you may know PayPal has a very strict policy regarding identity verification and this may become a problem for many service users whose turnover exceeds the specified limit during the certain time period, for PayPal it is 180 day. It’s not much of problem if you are registered at the same address where you live. However, you may face difficulties if you official address of registration does coincide with your actual place of residence, because PayPal would require from you to provide them some proof of your address, like utility bills, phone bills, driving license issued at least 6 months before the date of submission. For some of us it may become an impossible task, taking into account that PayPal usually requires to provide them these documents with a company logo irrespective of your local country rules. As for me, it took me two weeks to prove my address, and only after a series of phone calls to their customer support. I do not think these requirements have anything to do with security or some kind of customer protection. They simply invented this procedure to screw your brains out. This is the most stubborn, blockheaded and nonflexible company I ever dealt with. Besides, if you like travelling to other countries, you are always at risk of being blocked by their security system, because your current location has changed. Then you will have to prove who you are again. I do not think anyone will thrilled to repeat this procedure every time you travel abroad. What is more surprising, that we voluntarily pay them for our humiliation and their awful service. Just try to calculate how much you personally pay them annually.
Dear freelancer! Has it ever crossed your mind that your money has been wasted? Why should we feed all those intermediaries who do not create any product and prosper exclusively on our financial illiteracy? Banks, of course, are intermediary too. However, why should be pay for the same service twice? I do not want to advertise here some other provider of financial services. I just want you to be more flexible in your choice. For example, consider some options, like “Transfergo” or “e-pal”. These services allow you to transfer money directly to your card with minimal commissions. And there are many more… чтобы изменить.
